Ryan Seaton is a Bessie-nominated composer, podcast editor, and multi-instrumentalist based in New York. With a sharp ear for narrative and sonic detail, Seaton has worked extensively in podcast dialogue editing, audio drama post-production, and composition for dance, film and theater.
As a dialogue editor, Seaton has contributed to critically acclaimed Audible Original audio dramas, including adaptations of works by James Patterson and Michael Connelly, as well as award-winning documentary podcasts. His ability to shape interviews and spoken-word performances results in a seamless and riveting listening experience.
As a composer and sound designer, Seaton has created custom audio installations and sound designs for theater and dance, collaborating with artists such as Jean Butler (Riverdance), Joanna Kotze, and Beth Gill. His work has been showcased at BAM, New York Live Arts, Baryshnikov Arts Center, The Kitchen, and Danspace, along with numerous theaters across the U.S. and internationally. A composer for both film and television, his work includes the score for The Militiaman, a finalist for a Student Academy Award. Seaton has also partnered with fashion designers Rachel Comey and Mara Hoffman, adding a sonic dimension to their creative visions.
